Thank you for bringing this matter up to us.

We understand that there are special exception characters and we will amend the rules to acknowledge that there are certain younger characters (Vivi and Eiko from FFIX, Rini/Chibi-Usa from Sailor Moon, plenty of other examples) that would, plausibly, fit into the setting and premise. These characters will not be prohibited to apply. However, the Garden Rules were initially created and considered for potential cadets of the canon world; as children in the canon world do not have any special powers which would make it plausible to enter Garden prior to the age of ten, this will not change. Garden Rules and Game Rules are different; for example, while in Garden rules it states that pets are prohibited, technically they can still be housed in Garden so long as the faculty and Disciplinary Committee do not find them.

More or less, we failed to expand further on reasoning the change in the rules; OC and AU characters that are native to the world will not be able to enroll within the academy if they are younger than the age of ten unless there are extraneous reasons (such as a special ability that needs to be controlled) for an early enrollment to be permitted. As noted, we will add on a subnote to the change of rules in the Garden Rules section, and also add on another part to the Game rules/ FAQ to explain our reasoning.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you see any further problems which our change in rules may spark.

Thank you for answering so fast! So, in this case, the justification would be to confine/monitor/support those with unique abilities. That makes sense!

However, I would like to quickly correct you on the canon admission age (sorry!) - my copy of FF8 actually does have it as "5-15" year olds, according to the classroom terminals. Of course, mine is the PAL edition, which has a few small differences (like Selphie's weapon being "shinobu") - I don't know if this is one of them.

Thank you for the correction! We just checked the FF Wiki and you are in fact correct; the admission age is 5-15, so it was an error on our part. Unfortunately we assumed because the youngest of the canon characters enrolled at the age of 10 that it was the earliest age of admittance.

After a thorough discussion with the rest of the mod team, however, we've decided that for the purpose of this game we will keep the admissions age between 10-26 with the special exceptions amendment still in effect. The plot and setting are a bit difficult to incorporate younger characters with no special abilities into, especially since they would be considered junior cadets and their education will have to be prolonged even further; they would require a completely different course selection which, at the time, would not be possible for us to structure given the amount of tasks the mod team already has on their plate. Ultimately this change in rules wouldn't effect most future applicants as younger characters with abilities will still be able to apply; this is geared towards characters native to the world and the number/type of NPCs assumed within the school.
